RICHARD CARBOTTI
 For more than twenty-five years Richard Carbotti has been transforming spaces of any scale into detailed thematic and custom-designed environments. As a graduate of Parsons School of Design in Manhattan and the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, he has employed his knowledge of two-dimensional visual, interior, and graphic design to produce spectacular events internationally, bringing Perfect Surroundings, Inc. to the forefront of elite special event design firms.
Richard grew up in New York until his years in the Navy eventually brought him to Newport, RI where he currently resides with his wife Pat. Richard Carbotti and his team have worked internationally and produced events in more than 30 states.
Carbotti, selected by his peers as the 2000 Designer of the Year at the Event Solutions Magazine Spotlight Awards, is a founding member of ISES Rhode Island and served 2 years as President. His design solutions, creativity, and attention to detail continue to garner international awards, including the industry coveted Special Event Magazine Gala Awards, ISES Esprit Awards, and a second nomination for the Event Solutions 2005 Designer of the Year. Richard also adds a 30 year teaching background to his resume. As an art teacher and Professor of Advertising and Marketing at Johnson and Wales University, he has taught every level from the elementary school through the gradute level. As a long time Chairman of the Arts for the Newport Public Schools Department, he established school curriculums, integrated the arts and taught fundamental as well as advanced artistic/design concepts and techniques. A proud ambassador to the special event industry, his passion for teaching, the arts and everything this industry stands for is evident not only in his imaganitive and stunning events, but in his constant willingness to educate and share his secrets and experiences. As founder and design director of Perfect Surroundings, Inc., Richard Carbotti works tirelessly to create, motivate, and excite by using the basic elements of art and design. With each event Carbotti sets out to delicately fuse the minds of those past and present while bringing together and integrating the creative thoughts, ideas, styles, and reflections of all of our worldly environments.

As the oldest son and partner of Richard Carbotti, it seems Jordan has always had a place in the special event industry. Born into the business, Jordan has had the opportunity and good fortune to grow up and work with the top industry professionals. As Production Manager, he now actively takes part in all conceptual and developmental stages of the event design and production, and can also be found onsite at installations. His creative input and innovative visions are indispensable resources for Perfect Surroundings, Inc., and his onsite presence and skillful labor are vital in each event's completion.
After more than a decade working along side his father, Jordan's creative and artistic efforts have been recognized by Event Solutions Magazine. In 2005 Jordan was named Event Solutions Magazine's Rising Star at the Spotlight Awards held in Atlanta, GA. This marks the first time in this industry's history that a father and son have been nominated for a prominent industry award in the same year!
